over my dead body!

we recently completed building a 30 cubic metre biogas digester on our pig farm.  A biogas digester is a waste management system that will turn our farm waste into reusable energy in the form of methane gas used for lighting and fuel.  i did tons of research on different systems and found this to be more sustainable and more environmentally friendly than any other methods of waste disposal.

the size of my pig farm requires a digester with a reasonable capacity to absorb and process the waste.  the cost wasn’t cheap.  i had to work hard and save up every cent i needed to build it, while paying for the cost of constantly pumping out farm waste from our temporary septic tank.  this was to avoid odours  and sanitation issues from overflows, and summons from the barangay government over them.

during the initial stages of the project, our contractor informed us that some government personnel will be visiting the site to document the project and its progress.  i asked, what for?  the vague answer was, “oh, they normally document these types of projects.”  i was nonchalant about it, said ok and thought that i might as well seek technical assistance and know-how while they’re on site.

well, did i see any government personnel?  not a single soul!  i shouldn’t be surprised.  no one helped us before when we asked for assistance in any form.

we built our farm by ourselves, from scratch, with sweat and tears, and with more nuisance than help from any government body.   so to be asked if i’d be happy to have a sign posted on our farm to say that it is a government initiated and supported project… over my dead body!

i am angry. furious. livid.
